Jon Blais was featured on NBC Ironman World Championships 2005 in Kona Hawaii. He wanted to spread the word about ALS, a disease he was suffering with and he managed to complete the 140.6 mile course when many thought he could not. In 2006, he returned to Kona and spoke again, stating, " last year I completed Ironman, this year I'm in a wheelchair, next year I'll be gone". Jon lost his battle against ALS, and passed away on May 27, 2007.
