Walt's Wharf Restaurant in Seal Beach California has raised over $160,000 since 1996 through involvement in team events fundraising for charity. In 2007, General Manager, John Ryan has decided to "BLAZE" a new trail in an effort to help others. Along with Dana, his wife of 25 years, and sons Keith and Kyle, they organized a full Ironman triathlon distance of 140.6 miles at the first of it's kind OCBLAZEMAN 140.6. Inspired by Jon Blais, a fellow triathlete stricken with the deadly disease, ALS, the Ryans hope to inspire others to do what they can to do something for those in need and to spread awareness of ALS, MS, and to provide an opportunity for Challenged Athletes to do what many of us take for granted each and every day.
